The SL-450S features a tamper-proof rugged plastic case design that includes a hard plastic slide-on cover to prevent damage to the solar panel and liquid crystal display. The LCD features an 8-digit design with floating decimal.

The keys are designed for ease of identification and the calculator is capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percent, and square root. Also includes +/-, M+, M-, and Mem Clear.
