Exploring the New fx-CG100 ClassWiz Color Grapher

Writer: Karen GreenhausKaren Greenhaus

The fx-CG100 ClassWiz Color Graph is the next generation color grapher. You’ve seen in previous posts my discussion around the fx-991CW ClassWiz scientific calculator and its QR capabilities that allow for the visualization of the mathematics in the ClassPad.net workspace, but this new calculator takes it to the next level and puts those visuals right in your hands, without the QR code needed, since it’s right there on the larger screen in full color.

The ClassWiz family succeeds in standardizing key layout as students transition from scientific calculators to the more sophisticated graphing calculators. The CG100 uses a tab-based design, which makes navigation more intuitive and discoverable than the traditional Function Key approach. The tabs and drop downs are freely available on the screen as you need them; no more hunting around.

This is a new experience for Casio users, so I wanted to spend a couple blog posts sharing some basic how-to’s of the fx-CG100 to help get you started. You can play along with the videos to learn yourself using the free online emulator (make sure to sign in using Google, Microsoft, or Clever for emulator access).

For this post, I made two basic how-to’s to help get you started.
